Job Description

Responsible for performing advanced level repair, calibration, and preventative maintenance for semiconductor equipment, Dry Etch area.  Must demonstrate ability to take a leadership role in evaluating and providing maintenance requirements in order to ensure maximum availability of production equipment.  Interfaces with Production and Engineers to identify and resolve process-related issues, and provides technical guidance to other lower level technicians. Determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader, and lead/direct the activities of the area shift pass-downs, and set priorities based on production requirements for the rest of the team. Must be able to work on difficult tasks as an independent contributor and in a team environment.

 

This job is for you if

  • Perform complex machinery problem solving of semiconductor equipment in production environment for Hivac area, and participate on problem solving teams.
  • Ability to work under direction of an Equipment Engineer and/or Engineering Manager to plan and execute improvement project initiatives.
  • Able to develop his/her own resources to solve problems, and provides imaginative solutions to a broad range of difficult problems producing significant results.
  • Analyze recurring equipment failures and suggest innovative technical solutions, or new work methods.
  • Lead and direct the activities to develop/improve existing semiconductor equipment maintenance procedures and systems.
  • Collect equipment-specific performance data working with Engineering to develop and implement solutions to equipment-specific failures based on collected Pareto data, and tool deficiencies.
  • Provide technical equipment-specific training to lower level technicians.
  • Interface and direct vendor support to resolve equipment related failures.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic troubleshooting and repair on malfunctioning equipment to component level (diagnostic to component level), as needed.
  • Ability to take a lead role in resolving process issues and participate in yield investigations
  • Proper judgment is required in resolving problems and carrying out assignment and making recommendations
  • Participate and lead/direct ERT/Safety events, during the absence of supervision.
  • Ensure all required parts are on order and follow up as required to minimize equipment MTTR.
  • Must be able to work independent with minimal support.

Assignment Complexity

  • Work assignments are complex in nature, where analysis of data requires an in-depth evaluation of various variables. Lead important and high complexity technical projects.

Accountability/Discretion

  • Viewed as a recognized technical expert and demonstrates proficiency in more than one major production or test area.

Working Relationships

  • Interface with all Production, Process, Facility and support functions to identify and resolve Production Equipment related issues, and provides technical guidance to other lower level technicians

Supervision

  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.

Working Conditions

  • Works in a fab clean-room environment

 

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Electronics or equivalent.
  • Five or more years technical experience in the semiconductor industry.  
  • Must have demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance and be able to work with minimal or no assistance.
  • Must have strong knowledge of electronic theory, vacuum and pneumatics theory, principles of electrical circuits, motor control systems and test procedures and the ability to troubleshoot to component level.  
  • Direct working experience with at least one of the listed toolsets is required: Applied Materials DPS Metal, Applied Materials DPS Poly, Applied Materials EMAX Oxide, Applied Materials MxP+ Oxide, Applied Materials MxP+ Oxide, Applied Materials Super-E platforms. Applied Materials Producer systems experience is also desirable.

Pay range:

$25/hr - $38/hr
