Job Description

Primary responsibility will be supporting the maintenance and operation of the Fire System, Fire Sprinkler System, Eye wash, Fire Extinguishers, VESDA, leak detection and Hazardous Gas Detection System. Other responsibilities will include facilities systems, supporting electrical repairs, controls troubleshooting, calibration, particle measurements, etc. This technician will be responsible for proper system operation, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, and schedules, and responding to and troubleshooting system alarms and controls. Technician must be able to work in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.

This job is for you if

  • The position is for Day Shift; overtime may be required at times and emergency call-ins are a possibility.
  • Ensure all Life Safety Systems (VESDA, CO2, Fire Alarm Sprinkler, Gas Detection, Leak Detection and Mass Notification Systems) follow all local & federal regulations and NFPA codes.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair on various life safety systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair on various facilities systems.
  • Manage service contracts that support inspections, testing, repairs, service and maintenance on all Life safety systems.
  • Liaison with local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) such as: Local Fire Department.
  • The ability to recognize and respond to system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematics, specifications, and procedures.
  • Document and communicate system status to site operation systems, including shift logs and collaboration across all shifts.
  • Comprehend the criticality of system reliability, availability, and outages while correctly managing the associated risks.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining controls and instrumentation systems.
  • Automated building control system/Facility Management systems.

Job Requirements

  • Technical/Associates Degree / related discipline, and/or Military Equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Electrical and Controls knowledge experience required.
  • Life Safety Systems experience preferred.
  • Facilities Semiconductor experience preferred.
  • Experience with Fire Protection and Fire Alarm Network Systems which include: VESDA units, special hazard fire suppression systems, sprinkler piping systems, fire alarm and detection devices.
  • Understanding of Fire Alarm Network Panels, equipment and software.
  • Experience with continuous gas detection systems, equipment and network.
  • Read & understand ladder logic/programming ability is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Able to lift at least 30 pounds periodically throughout the shift and/or process issues ability to perform maintenance activities and work in the standing position for most of an 8-hour shift (excluding breaks). Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing facilities.
