Job Description
Sustain, improve, and develop etch processes for the high-volume manufacturing of semiconductor devices. This position partners with Operations, Equipment Engineering Support, Integration, and R&D to deliver products on time to customer specification.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to,
- monitoring and controlling RIE etch processes
- developing and implementing new etch capabilities and process enhancements and procedures to improve key performance metrics such as yield, throughput, and cycletime.
- troubleshooting and solving yield issues
- characterizing and qualifying new equipment, equipment upgrades, chemicals, and process technologies
- suggesting work methods for new tasks and for tasks that he/she leads
- creating and maintaining operations specifications and out-of-control action plans
- investigating and containing non-conforming material and events
- providing recommendations to the material review board
- interfacing with global counterparts to benchmark and improve etch processes and procedures company-wide
- supporting process and technology transfers
- leading task teams
- using FMEAs, lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 8D problem solving processes
This job is for you if:
- You are able to perform sustaining and improving dry and wet etch processes in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- You can perform monitoring and controlling wet etch processes, troubleshooting yield problems, developing process enhancements, and implementing new processes to address quality and bottleneck situations.
- You are an expert at Installing and qualifying of new tools and process technologies.
- You are able to perform supporting process and technology transfers.
- You are experienced with participating in troubleshooting taskforces as needed and helping develop solutions that prevent recurrence.
- You can support the Integration team and Quality organization to ensure technologies meet all qualification and reliability requirements.
- You have experience using lean manufacturing and six sigma processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to react to shifting priorities to meet business needs
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
- Excellent interpersonal skills, energetic and self starter
- Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of device physics, semiconductor, processing, and etch chemistries
- Monitoring and sustaining etch processes in a production environment for the manufacture of semiconductor devices. (two years’ experience)
- Dispositioning production lots during and after etch process steps per out-of-control action plans (two years’ experience)
- The use of statistics (e.g., probability plots, t-test) to analyze wafer/lot test results from various tools and/or with various process conditions to check for differences in populations
- The use of statistical design of experiment (DOE) in optimizing a process recipe
- The use of 8D/5 Whys problem solving methodology to resolve yield and/or process control issues
- Knowledge of PROMIS wip management software and JMP statistical analysis software
