Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for executing daily sustaining of METALS/RTP area and following up with procedures and schedules defined by the process engineering department. 

  • Evaluate and monitor wafer fabrication operations to maintain the process and process equipments in the Metals/RTP area.  
  • Investigate tool issues and yield problems.  
  • Assist senior engineering in the evaluation and implementation of complex process and equipment changes.  
  • Work on moderately complex assignments, where judgement is required, in resolving problems and making recommendations.  
  • Undertake area projects, becoming an expert in applicable process disciplines.

  • Can be responsible for daily disposition of product, qual failures, and hold lotsmonitor quality and other issues that affect the flow of WIP 
  • Can set up, monitor, and adjust process equipment; able to set up and perform diagnostic tests and evaluate results 
  • Can perform technical equipment calibration and characterization 
  • Can process test runs and conduct tests for engineering for continuous yield improvement projects (CIPs) 
  • Can maintain and update area spec/OCAPs and conduct detailed record of procedures and results 
  • Can conduct processing experiments on devices to prove/improve engineering design 
  • Can conduct tests on devices/wafers by applying advanced techniques and criteria to obtain data required for process studies 

 

Job Requirements

  • Requires an AA/AS degree or equivalent experience
  • Two or more years of technical experiment in the semiconductor industry
  • Some knowledge of semiconductor wafer processing
  • Some knowledge of SPC, failure analysis, and various software monitoring tools
  • Experience with MS tools – Excel, Word, PowerPoint 
  • Can communicate well and work collaboratively with others in process engineering, equipment engineering, and production to sustain the fab 
  • Can execute experiments and non-routine process testing (VSTs) defined by senior engineering 
  • Have some knowledge of PROMIS system
