Job Description

Tower Semiconductor Newport Beach, an exciting and growing wafer foundry for state-of-the-art Automotive and wireless communications semiconductor products, is looking for a Quality Engineer. This is a customer and supplier facing role with internal quality systems responsibilities including Automotive, Continuous Improvement Programs (CIPs), customer satisfaction, 8D problem solving, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Change Control, and other quality systems listed below. The successful candidate will facilitate interactions with customers, suppliers and internal teams. Strong communication skills and engineering judgment required. Successful candidate will be expected to develop internal/external networks, facilitate, lead and solve complex problems. 

This Job Is For You If

•    You can interface with customer and supplier engineering/program/account quality managers and customer quality accounts regarding quality requirements and activities
•    You can measure, monitor and improve suppliers thru periodic Business Reviews (QBR’s) and Supplier Scorecards
•    You are able to measure, monitor and improve customer satisfaction thru periodic Business Reviews and Customer Scorecards
•    You are able to do 8D problem solving systems and methodology
•    You can perform customer Corrective Action Requests (CCAR)
•    You can change Control Board systems and methodology
•    You can perform new Product Introduction (NPI) systems and methodology
•    You can perform statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and methodology
•    You can perform continuous Improvement Process (CIP) systems and methodology
•    You can gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) systems and methodology
•    You can manage internal/external (supplier/customer/Registers) Quality Audits (IATF/ISO, OHSAS, etc.) and meetings (records, actions tracking to customer and other satisfaction)
•    You can handle RMA's (Return Material Authorization) for customer quality concerns


Job Requirements

•    Engineering/chemistry/physics/mathematics bachelor degree or equivalent required
•    Minimum five years process or integration engineering experience in a semiconductor fabrication facility or similar preferred
•    Strong attention to details, organized and computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
•    Data mining, analysis and software/automation skills (Jump, SQL, perl, tcl, or similar db/scripting skills) is an advantage
•    Lean Six-Sigma is an advantage
•    Firm understanding of Project/Program Management principles and skills (MS Project or similar)
•    Ability to interact on a team with good verbal and written communication skills
