Job Description

Responsible for research, development and improvement of new devices & process technologies used to manufacture BiCMOS and analog/digital CMOS wafers. In addition, new techniques involving bonding or other advanced hybridization techniques. The employee exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.

This Job Is For You If

•You participate in fab and drive wafer development of advanced and next generation semiconductor technology platforms
• You process technology development and implementation in a VLSI manufacturing, foundry environment.  Both device and interconnect.
• You Participate in and coordinate experiments toward technology development, prototype, and yield enhancement.
• You are an expert in silicon photonics device physics, characterization, and fabrication.
• You can participate in and coordinate experiments toward technology prototype development and yield enhancement.
• You are willing to work with process engineering team, test team, customers to define goals and manufacturing solutions. 
• You can design test structures (in CAD environment) and define tests for device characterization.
• You are able to provide support to resolve customer issues, problems and questions.
• You can support transfer from development to production for processes variants.
• You can support process transfer to worldwide fabrication facilities if needed.
• You have experience with semiconductor industry wafer bonding & die to wafer bonding a plus.
• You have hands-on experience in III-V process development.

 

Job Requirements

Position requires very strong analytical and people skills. Hands-on attitude. Willingness to learn.
Expert-level understanding of  fab process and integration, semiconductor devices, and silicon photonics.. 
Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor process and device development role or 5-year PhD program in related field.
Specific computer skills desired: experience with software to read and edit mask layout data (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso software), experience with statistical data processing software (e.g. R or JMP), device and process TCAD simulation tools (e.g. Medici, Sentaurus etc.), silicon photonics simulation software (e.g. Lumerical, RSoft), experience with semiconductor fab lot management software (e.g. PROMIS or Workstream).
B.S. or M.S. OK,  PhD preferred, in engineering discipline: Electrical Eng, Physics, Materials Sci, or related.
Must be willing to spend 50% to 100% of time in the Fab.
Wet etch semiconductor process experience in Si-based processing and III-V materials processing a strong plus.
