Job Description

Tower Semiconductor is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic professional to join our fast-paced, dynamic environment and fill a key role on our payroll team. The Sr. Payroll Manager role will own the end-to-end process for maintenance of the general ledger accounts, journal entry preparation, and the bi-weekly processing of payroll. 

 

The Sr. Payroll Manager will sit in our beautiful San Antonio, TX campus, support all US sites in collaboration with 2 other payroll professionals and report directly to the US Manager of Compensation and Benefits.

Job Requirements

  • Manage employee timekeeping requirements and associated business processes.
  • Generate biweekly payroll, reconcile, and validate gross payroll prior to closing payroll and explain differences as compared to prior biweekly payroll.
  • Produce payroll checks, emergency checks/check reissues, adjustments, refunds, and other related actions for employees.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and ensure legal compliance.
  • Process bank transactions, including stop payments, direct deposit recalls, wire transfers and check inquiries.
  • Verify compliance with federal and state payroll requirements including taxation matters
  • Ensure proper payroll taxation of employee compensation.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
  • Interpret pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, worker’s compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
  • Audit and processes employee updates such as new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, deductions including union dues, direct deposits, time data, rate changes, retroactive adjustments, and special pays.
  • Create and post journal entries, reconciling payroll related accounts for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
  • Using knowledge of accounting and payroll, explain balances or changes from period to period in detail as they relate to financial statements.
