Job Description

Responsible for performing advanced level repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance for semiconductor equipment in Dry Etch area (Lam 2300,  4400, 4500,9600, AMAT DPS Metal, and Poly 200 mm tools).  Assist in evaluating and providing maintenance requirements to ensure maximum availability of production equipment.  Interfaces with Production and Engineers to identify and resolve process-related issues, and provides technicial guidance to other lower level technicians.  Determine methods and procedures on new assignments.  May be informal team leader, and lead/direct the activities of the area shift pass-downs, and set priorities based on production requirements for the rest of the team.

  • You can perform complex machinery problem solving of semiconductor equipment in production environment for Dry Etch area, and participate on problem solving teams.
  • You are able to develop his/her own resources to solve problems, and provide imaginative solutions to a broad range of difficult problems producing significant results.
  • You can analyze recurring equipment failures and suggest innovative technicial solutions, or new work methods.
  • You can lead and direct the activities to develop/improve existing semiconductor equipment maintenance procedures and systems.
  • You can collect equipment-specific performance data working with Engineering to develop and implement solutions to equipment-specific failures based on collected Pareto data, and tool deficiencies.
  • You can provide technicial equipment-specific training to lower level technicians.
  • You can interface and direct vendor support to resolve equipment related failures.
  • You have the ability to perform diagnostic tgroubleshooting and repair on malfunctioning equipment to component level (diagnostic to component level), as needed.
  • You have the ability to assist in resolving process issues and participate in yield investigations.
  • You can participate and lead/direct ERT/Safety events, during the absence of supervision.
  • You can ensure all required parts are on order and follow up as required to minimize equipment MTTR.
  • You require minimal management supervision to perform daily routines.

Job Requirements

  • Five to seven years of technical experience in the semiconductor industry. 
  • Must have demonstrated working knowledge of advanced electro-mechanical systems operations and maintenance and be able to work with minimal or no assistance. 
  • Adequate knowledge of basic electronic, Pneumatics theory, principles of electrical circuits, principles of RF power supplies, and match systems, motors control systems and test procedures and the ability to troubleshoot to component level. 
  • Strong preference is given for experience with LAM research, AMAT Centura, Fusion Axcelis stripper, and Plasmatherm Versaline tools.
  • Associate of Science degree with an emphasis in Electronics, or equivalent.
