Job Description

Evaluate and monitor wafer fabrication operations to maintain the process and process equipment.  Investigate routine problems and initiate action to resolve them.  Work within established procedures and written or verbal instructions on a wide variety of technical, non-standardized assignments that are semi-routine in nature, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practices and take corrective action is required.



This job is for you if

  • Set up, monitor, and adjust process equipment.
  • Disposition production lots that are out of control limits.
  • Recover wafers from tool aborts
  • Identify recurring problems and recommend changes to resolve.
  • Assist in identifying equipment malfunctions.
  • Carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
  • Evaluate procedures used by line operators and initiate action to resolve problems
  • Perform in-process control measurements and maintain records.
  • Create measurement recipes.
  • Assist in training production personnel.
  • Shows consistent growth in the learning curve.

Working Environment:

Assignment Complexity

  • Works on tasks of low to medium complexity.  Assists in evaluating and resolving problems.


  • Provides training to operators on technical equipment.  Works within established parameters.

Working Relationships 

  • Primarily works with other similarly classified employees within the company


  • Does not have management responsibilities.  Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.

Working Conditions

  • Works in fab clean-room environment

Experience/Proven Skills

  • One or more years of technical experience in the semiconductor industry.  A working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing tools.



Job Requirements

  • Requires an AA/AS degree or equivalent experience.
